Chi-I Chiang

Ms. Chiang, who majored in Laboratory Medicine, including Biochemistry, Hematology, Serology, Bacteriology, Virology, etc, graduated from Department of Medical Technology in National Taiwan University in 2001. To be well trained with the experiment skills to solve problems and frame the study plan independently, she proceeded to study in the field of Clinical Biochemistry and got her master degree in NTU in 2003.

She had served in genomic sample management ( GSM ) group of National Genotyping Center of Academia Sinica since graduating from school. “Genotyping” is an important technique to analyze genes of human diseases. The sample source of genotyping is DNA, so the correction and proper management of sample information is the foundation of reliable experiment data. She started her training from basic routine experiments, such as DNA extraction from blood samples, and also learned about instrument operating, data recording, formal document writing and preservation ( GLP Training ). She also took Microsoft Access courses to build up sample reception system. In October 2004, she represented GSM group to visit the US division of GlaxoSmithKline pharmaceutic corporation for experience exchange. In November 2005, she took over the position of GSM group leader, whose job included sample and data management, sample application handling, communication with users, job allotment, instrument program setup, and requirements providing for LIMS ( Laboratory Information Management System). To keep improving her knowledge and skills, she has taken the management credit courses of NTU since September 2006 to stay growing up.

In recent years, the government has been starting to invest actively in biotechnology, and the demand for persons with biotechnology and patent knowledge is also increasing. In March 2007, Ms. Chiang entered Deep & Far as a patent engineer. For her excellent experimental experiences and aggressive personality, although she is just a beginner in the patent field, she will try her best to learn more and perform well in her position.
